  Whalers' Cove Lodge is located fifty two miles southwest of Juneau and forty seven miles east of Sitka on the Southeast panhandle of Alaska. The main transportation hub for our lodge is the Juneau International Airport with daily service from Seattle, Washington or Anchorage, Alaska.

  Currently, Alaska Airlines is only major passenger carrying airline for this region. To take a look at airline schedules and rates, press on the icons below. Please note that advanced ticketing to and from Alaska is required during the summer time due to the cruise ship trades that purchase bulk lots.  

  Travel Tip:  When dealing directly with the airline companies online, look at their web specials and the press releases for lower rates. Hotel Accommodations

  Upon arrival in Juneau, you'll need to stay overnight at one of the airport area hotels. Our transportation service from Juneau to our lodge for Saturday arrivals begins at the front door of the selected hotels with Princess Tour Line's bus transporting you to the Allen Marine high speed catamarans at the Auke Bay terminal. For arrivals on Monday (five day packages) or Wednesday (three day packages), your transportation will being from the Juneau International Airport at the Wings of Alaska Airlines counter. The hotel that you are staying at will provide you with a courtesy shuttle.

  The major hotels around the Juneau International Airport are the Travel Lodge, Best Western, Grandma's Feather Bed which is an affiliation of the Best Western offering king size feather beds and a jacuzzi in each room and the Super 8. For Whalers' Cove Lodge guests, the Juneau Travel Lodge offers our guests a 10% discount if you mention that your a guest of ours. If you're planning on staying in Juneau upon your return from our lodge, don't forget to make this reservation in advance since the hotel space is limited during the summer months. Automobile Reservations

  The hotels surrounding the airport are approximately seven miles from downtown Juneau where there are numerous siteseeing opportunities and gift shopping. The City of Juneau is spread out and the optimum way to view as many sites as possible would be to rent a vehicle. All of the major vehicle rental services are located in the Juneau Airport on the lower lever across from the baggage claim area. To reserve a vehicle, click on your preferred agency.
