Although our lodge is located near a “Damp” community (where alcohol cannot be served or sold, but individuals can possess alcohol for their own enjoyment), we do offer a mixing station! Complete with mint, sugar cubes, cinnamon sticks, citrus wedges and zests, cherries, olives, hot sauce, ground pepper, celery, celery salt, tomato juice, orange juice, cranberry juice, soda water, tonic water, bitters, and diet and regular sodas.
Our tiny gift shop has a generous offering of Whaler’s Cove Lodge and Alaskan memorabilia to enjoy! We do our best to source local artwork, Tlingit made, and American made items. In addition to our select limited edition works of bronze sculptures and printed artwork, we offer custom Alaskan made jewelry, hand made knives, books, puzzles, plush toys, caps, gloves, vests, jackets, t-shirts, hoodies, cups, mugs, spices, and even tea towels! Make sure to pack light so you have room in your suitcase to take home WCL memorabilia.
Did you know that ALL of our water used for cooking, cleaning, showering, and flushing comes from the sky? Rainwater collects into our surface reservoir, which is then treated to become potable in our water treatment facility. Our professional housekeeping staff is pleased to make up your room every day, linens and towels are replaced as desired, and limited laundry services are available for an additional fee.
We process your catch to your specifications daily. Filleted, steaked, headed and gutted – your call! All cuts are vacuum bagged and moved into the blast freezer as soon as it is processed. Your catch leaves with you as baggage or can be delivered to Fed Ex to make a speedy trip to your freezer. The quality of this product is world class and we take the time to be sure it is done right so that you can enjoy your harvest year-long!
